リンケービッチ外務大臣が日本の外務省大臣政務官と面談

  10月23日、外務大臣エドガー・リンケーヴィッチは日本の外務大臣政務官浜田和幸と面談しました。 

   両者は2国間の協力について話し会い、国連安全保障委員会の改革のほか、EU地域拡大及びロシア・アフガニスタン・東アジアの地域問題について意見交換を行いました。リンケービッチ大臣は日本側にラトビアのOECD加盟国としての地位を得ることに重点を置く外交方針を説明しました。

   両者は相互関係の進展につき満足の意を表明し、経済的な繋がりを拡大することに焦点を当て更に密接な協力を約束しました。

   浜田和幸大臣政務官はラトビアに10月23日から25日まで滞在します。同氏の訪問中、ソルヴィタ・アボィテイナサエイマ議会議長やアンドリス・ヴィルクス財務大臣との会談が予定されています。

  ラトビアと日本は親密な友好関係を維持しており、積極的な政治的協力、具体的な経済的な繋がりを進めています。また文化及び教育分野で優れた協力関係があります。

Foreign Minister Rinkēvičs meets Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan

On 23 October, Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkēvičs met with the Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan Kazuyuki Hamada.

The ministers discussed bilateral cooperation and exchanged opinions on the developments in the Eurozone and regional issues concerning Russia, Afghanistan, the Eastern Asia region, as well as the UN Security Council reform. Minister Rinkēvičs briefed the Japanese side about one of Latvia’s foreign policy priorities – to obtain the status of an OECD member state.

The parties expressed satisfaction at the advancement of their bilateral relations and pledged a commitment to even closer cooperation with a focus on expanding economic contacts.

Japanese Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Kazuyuki Hamada will stay in Latvia from 23 to 25 October. During his visit, meetings have been scheduled with the Speaker of the Saeima Solvita Āboltiņa and the Minister of Finance, Andris Vilks.

Latvia and Japan enjoy close and friendly relations and engage in an active political cooperation; economic contacts develop in a dynamic way and there is excellent cooperation in the field of culture and education.
